Haverstock Careers Education Policy
As a school we pride ourselves on preparing our students for progression beyond Haverstock Secondary School. We do this through a well thought out programme designed specifically to meet the needs of our students. Our careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) scheme of work (SOW) is in line with the CDI Framework for Careers, Employability and Enterprise Education 7-19 and ensures our students are given every opportunity to develop their ideas on future careers. We achieved ‘outstanding’ in the last Ofsted inspection for our CEIAG provision, support and the use of our business partners. We work with a wide range of organisations from different industries including Olswang, Viacom, NBC Universal, Holiday Inn Hotels, Island Records, Lakehouse, Taylor Bennett, Santander, CBRE, Genesis, GE and Apex Hotels to name but a few. We also work with a variety of educational institutions from primary schools and colleges through to universities and other higher education providers.
Our CEIAG programme is a mixture of small careers events, activities, practical workshops, talks, lectures and visits all designed to encourage our students to explore different career possibilities and think outside of the box. All of the programmes teach students much needed skills for when they leave education and enter the world of work.
