A Brilliant Careers Day!

Last Tuesday was our first PSHEE day of this academic year. And what a day it was!

Our whole school focused on careers and the world of work, with a range of fantastic events for everyone. We welcomed over 50 guests from the business world, who met with students in a fun speed–networking event. Santander delivered workshops on interview skills and CV–writing. Students took part in sessions on applications, UCAS and apprenticeships. And others travelled across London to visit universities from LSE to Roehampton to Westminster.

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education days are a part of the curriculum giving students an opportunity to think beyond their regular subjects. And last week's careers–focused day certainly gave our students plenty to think about, with one Year 8 student saying 'It really changed my view of university'!

Our guests were impressed too, saying:

• ''The students were lovely and attentive. In these tough economic times, it is never too early to start thinking about jobs.' Santander

• 'We were glad to bring ideas about a career in architecture and business management to the students.' MMA Architecture

• 'It was great to see the students so engaged – and a pleasure to work with them.' Camden Council
