It’s been a buzzing term of careers events at Haverstock, with students across every year group diving into inspiring opportunities. From hands-on workshops to behind-the-scenes workplace visits, our students have been exploring different industries, meeting professionals, and making direct applications for apprenticeships and internships.

Year 11 wrapped up their CMS workplace visit this term, rounding off a fantastic series of trips designed to help them see real working environments up close.

Over in Year 9, students took part in a Deloitte Responsible Business Workshop last week, as part of their Guided Choices process. The energy was high as students tackled a fast-paced marketplace challenge, showing off their skills in teamwork, negotiation, and leadership.

Deloitte’s senior manager James was full of praise, reflecting that the skills he uses daily — teamwork, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and negotiation — were 'on display in abundance' from Haverstock students. He shared how impressed he was, saying, 'The level of ability was on a par or above students from other schools I have been to, and the innovation on display was fantastic. In fact, the tulips that some of our students used in their creative negotiation strategy even made it to Deloitte’s office the next morning!' As James put it, 'Deloitte would be lucky to have them, and I hope that they do look to apply in the future.'

With non-stop energy, the Deloitte team brought finance to life in a dynamic marketplace challenge. Seeing our Year 9 students fully immersed, negotiating deals, and showing genuine leadership was a real reminder of how much our students rise to the occasion when given the right opportunity.
